If you love to sing and have afternoons free, then there’s a new, no-audition choir starting in Wells just for you.

The Wells Good Afternoon Choir is being launched on Tuesday, 16th January at St Cuthbert’s Church, and everyone is welcome to go along and find out more about how singing in the afternoon is great fun!

Grenville Jones will lead the sessions, with Sheila Ross as accompanist. Grenville has a reputation for getting hundreds of people singing, and is the man behind this new daytime community choir for people in-and-around Wells.

The Good Afternoon Choirs are one of his hugely successful choir projects, with over 500 singers in the Bath, Devizes, Keynsham, Bristol, Yate and Chipping Sodbury, Thornbury and Frome weekly groups.

The Wells Good Afternoon Choir will meet at St Cuthbert’s Church (BA5 2AW) on Mondays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and everyone is welcome to go along and find out more. There is no charge for attending the first get-together, and full membership details will be available to take away. Grenville said: “Come along and find out how afternoon singing can be such fun. There are no auditions, and we’ll sing popular songs in unison and harmony. There will be concerts and performances as the choir develops in the months ahead.”
