Efforts to continue with the Regeneration effort in Midsomer Norton have been praised and discussed, following the publication of the Shopper Survey in The Journal last week, in association with Cognisant Research and the Somer Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Residents have until 30th June to fill in the anonymous survey and post in the boxes at various points in the High Street – at Sainsbury’s, Jesse Beaus Too, High Street DIY,
Norton Sports and Camping, The Library and the Town Hall or online at: www.cognisantresearch.com/shoppersurvey
The survey is in response to the public meeting held back at the beginning of March to discuss the issue of ‘reclaiming the High Street’. Mayor Paul Myers said: “It is really heartening to see businesses rolling up their sleeves and putting something in to this effort. We have had a good number of responses to the survey so far. If two thirds of the population really do commute out of the town between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., where
exactly are they shopping, and what do they buy? It will be fascinating to find out the different age groups and study the data, so that we can find out exactly what people want and it could really provide a firm basis of ideas for the future.”
If you are yet to fill out a survey, hard copies are available from the Town Hall, the library and The Journal.
