A man in his eighties with underlying health conditions has very sadly passed away at the Royal United Hospital in Bath this week. He had tested positive for Coronavirus.
James Scott, Chief Executive of the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, said:“Sadly, we can confirm that a man who was being cared for at the Royal United Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.
“The patient, who died on 18th March, was in his 80s and had underlying health conditions.
“His family have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time. Out of respect for their privacy we will not be commenting further.”
The news comes as daily updates from the Government are reminding people of the importance of social distancing and the last day for many pupils at local schools. Companies are adapting with home delivery services for those who are self-isolating and people are being asked not to stockpile food and supplies.
