On Saturday, 8th November, the sale of community shares in Farmborough Community Shop Ltd will be launched, giving local people and organisations the opportunity to contribute financially, long-term, to a new community shop in Farmborough.
Find out more about where the shop will be and what it could potentially look like and learn about becoming a member (shareholder) to financially support it, by attending one of the special launch events at the following places and times: Farmborough All Saints Church: Saturday, 8th November, 10.30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Priston Village Hall: Saturday, 15th November, from 11 a.m. – 12 noon, Farmborough Memorial Hall: Saturday, 15th November, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., Farmborough Memorial Hall: Tuesday, 18th November, from 7.30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
At all these events, plans for the shop will be presented and details given about the community share offer. The Management Committee will be available to answer questions, assist with share applications and provide further information.
There will also be a fundraising concert on the evening of the launch on Saturday, 8th November at Farmborough All Saints Church, starting at 7.30 p.m. (doors open from 6.30 p.m.). It will include a variety of music and song, from the 'Sweet Chilli Trio (in four parts)', who will be performing some singalong numbers to commemorate the First World War, the Kennet and Avon Handbell Ringers, musicians from Bath Spa University, plus Rick Fitzsimmons, performing a number of songs, including a little Gilbert and Sullivan.
