Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions club once again helped a local charity when it made a grant of £500 to the High Littleton Scout Group.

This well-known local Scout Group, which has been operating for over 50 years, purchased the village Methodist Church (now called the High Littleton Scout Hall) as their Headquarters in November 2021. The Group has over 90 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts who meet in the evenings. During school terms the Hall is hired by the High Littleton Pre-School.

The building (over a hundred years old) has needed upkeep and renovations and since the group’s executive committee became the managing trustees of the property, they have been fundraising to make improvements. The £500 from Lions will be used to purchase LED tubes for the building which will be more environmentally friendly and save on energy bills in the future.

Margaret and Sarah from the Lion’s club met to present the cheque to the Scout Committee members, with Michael Walker, Group Chairman, accepting a cheque from Sarah Oughton, Lions President. Lion Margaret Burdon, not seen, is taking the photo.
