THE annual Hinton Blewett fete took place at the weekend on the beautiful setting of the village green overlooked by St Margaret’s Church, writes Rosie Sage.
The many visitors enjoying the late summer sunshine crowded the green which looked resplendent after the weeks of be a parched and brown parched patch.
The tea tent was busy throughout the afternoon, and the tables were laden with a huge variety of cakes and biscuits, something for everyone and all sizes of appetites. Outside the stalls and games were continually surrounded by folk eager to part with their cash. The Mendip Brass Band played throughout the afternoon making the event very traditional.

The pub provided further sustenance with burgers and hotdogs and of course liquid refreshment if needed.
A new attraction this year were the harness goats, much enjoyed by the children who had an opportunity to stroke, groom, feed and lead. This was a highlight for many children.
The fete was a great success raising much needed funds and the organisers thank everyone who supported the fete in anyway so generously.
