The New Delta Jazz Band expects to be back to full strength for their March session of traditional New Orleans Jazz on Friday, 3rd March.
Trumpet player, vocalist and raconteur, Derek Winters, will be making the long trip up from Penzance to lead the band and to join up with the ever popular reeds man, Clive Johnson and trombone player, Pete Middleton, to complete the front line. Banjo player, Roger Bonsall, returns with John Massey on bass and John Coad on drums in the rhythm section, completing the line-up.
Doubtless an entertaining programme will be planned to provide another enjoyable session of Old Down Jazz at The Old Down Inn, Inn at Emborough (on the A37) near Chilcompton, where landlady, Maxine and The New Delta Jazz Band will make you very welcome. Derek will start the music at 8.30 p.m.
