Odd Down 1 Paulton Rovers 1 (3–2 on pens)
Odd Down won a penalty shoot out after equalising in normal time. In truth, Paulton missed numerous chances in a largely lacklustre game.
Rovers’ striker, Leighton Thomas, should have shown more composure as he latched to Thierry Swaby’s cross whilst for the hosts Can New drove over the bar.
In the second half New’s header was easily held by Paulton keeper, Aaron Sainsbury and youth team player, Joe Paradise belied his young age with some vital tackles with a Man of the Match performance.
Rovers’ boss, John Rendell, made a triple substitution on the hour which paid off immediately as Swaby’s shot was blocked and Dave O’Hare tapped the rebound.
Lee Ibrahim coming on gave Paulton a boost with no finished product. Odd Down levelled on 75 minutes as Luke Bryan crossed from the right and Newside footed home.
So to the lottery of a penalty shoot out with Rovers missing three and Odd Down two for Raphael Waugh to hit the winning goal.
