B&NES Council is in the process of consulting on proposals to change the way Children's Centre Services are delivered locally. It says it will not be closing Children's Centres, but will be considering proposals to target services to those who need them most, reduce administration and management and change the opening times of some of the centres.
Questionnaires and leaflets containing further details about the changes are on display and available in all Children's Centres, One Stop Shops and Libraries. The on-line questionnaire features on the front page of: http://www.bathnes.gov.uk">www.bathnes.gov.uk Feedback from the consultation, which ends on 6th June, will be considered by the Council, alongside the proposals, later this year.
£1.5 million of savings need to be found with the nearest local 'hub' being in Radstock. Cllr Liz Hardman (Labour Spokesperson for Early Years) said: "I really want people to look at the proposals and let the Council know what they think. It is vital for current and future generations of children and their families that the services provided are what people want and where they want them."
