Following nomination by Paulton Councillor John Bull, June Drake of Paulton attended the annual Community Awards event in Bath Guildhall on 27th February.

Cllr Bull said: “Myself and fellow Councillor, Liz Hardman, felt June deserved recognition on two grounds – for her many years’ service with Norton Radstock Community Transport, allowing local older and disabled people to access facilities in the Somer Valley and beyond; and secondly, for her role in setting up and running the Senior Citizens’ Luncheon Club, held monthly in the Scout and Community Hall, Paulton. This provides a welcoming environment for senior citizens in the village to eat lunch together.”

Councillor Hardman added: “June has contributed so much to Paulton village life that we felt this should be acknowledged, and we were really pleased she was able to attend this event.”
