On Wednesday, 23rd February Chilcompton Art Group met for their AGM where Chairman John Sibley was delighted to present the Turner Cup to member, Pam Patch.
This cup was presented to the club in 2018 by founding members, Harold and Joan Turner and is awarded each year to a person whom the committee thinks deserves recognition for their long service and dedication to the art club.
Pam was not only a founding member of the club but has also over the years actively contributed to the running of it, having joined the committee in the year 2000. She has undertaken several roles on the committee, including Chairperson in the early 2000s and then as a valued committee member right up until 2016. Pam has also provided help and support at Club exhibitions with her delightful floral arrangements.
Pam still attends weekly sessions with her daughter where they enjoy painting alongside the Club’s friendly members. They all meet at the bright and airy Chilcompton Sports Club on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am until 1 pm and holds regular exhibitions of members’ work, with some currently planned for this year at Chilcompton Village Hall, Downside and possibly Wells Cathedral. Information about the Club can be found on Facebook.
