The free prize raffle to launch the new website for Midsomer Norton Town Council has been now been drawn.

The Council has had a terrific response from the community and lots of positive feedback about the new site.

One lucky winner, Hayley Davis, a well known local childminder from the Riverside area, received the first prize of a £100 Amazon voucher with five further runners up receiving pairs of tickets to the Midsomer Norton Community Cinema. To say thank you to all those who took part, all entrants will be emailed a voucher to put towards refreshments at the cinema bar.

The new website contains lots of regularly updated information about the Council, its activities and events and is now seeing record numbers of visitors. The site also links to the Council’s social media channels including a new YouTube channel.

“It’s been a big challenge, but incredibly rewarding,” said Deputy Mayor Gordon Mackay, who developed and maintains the site on a voluntary basis. “I wanted to give something back to our wonderful community and this was the perfect opportunity.”

The Council hopes to use the site to better engage with residents and businesses to really promote the town.

“There’s some very exciting projects happening in Midsomer Norton like the ambitious Town Hall Regeneration and the return of a market to the Island. Our website is a great way to keep people informed,” added Cllr Mackay,. “As much as we Councillors dedicate lots of time and effort, we couldn’t achieve anything without our fantastic Council staff.”
