Looking for a new challenge in the New Year? A new group is being set up in Peasedown St John to help create a dementia-friendly community.

The initiative, which has already received support from B&NES Council, Curo and St John’s Church, will meet five to six times per year and oversee the development of a dementia action plan for Peasedown St John.

Co-ordinator, Nathan Hartley, said: “One of the key things that has been apparent over the past year, since I started running Dementia Friendly Workshops, is that local people, organisations and businesses want to do more to create an environment where those living with dementia feel welcomed and included.

“So, the need for this new action group is strong, and with the guidance of the B&NES Dementia Action Alliance, I’m positive a lot can be achieved.”

Representatives from a range of organisations are being invited to join the group, including local businesses, sports clubs, community groups and faith-based organisations.
