Eight-year-old Max Andrews, from Kilmersdon, has landed the part of Grisha in The Cherry Orchard at The Old Vic Theatre, Bristol.

Max attends Kilmersdon Primary School, and was invited to audition through The Pauline Quirke Academy in Bath, which he attends every Saturday morning. Max was delighted to get the part, and is sharing the role with two other boys. The Cherry Orchard is showing at The Old Vic until this Saturday, 7th April.

Max said: “I’m loving it – I hope I get to do something like it again. Everyone is really nice and they have inspired me!”

Max’s mother, Vicky, said: “Max has approached being a part of The Cherry Orchard with a very mature, professional and calm manner. He has come home from every rehearsal and performance buzzing.

“Everyone at The Old Vic – the director, cast and crew – have looked after him with great love and care. We are super proud of him.”
