OUTDATED street lighting columns in Peasedown have been updated following a campaign led by the village’s independent councillors.
The councillors secured £10,000 worth of investment to replace the old lamp posts in Bramley Close and Knightstone Close.
The funding was provided by B&NES Council, with the works carried out recently.
Cllrs Gavin Heathcote and Karen Walker said: “After repeated requests, last year we secured £10,000 to update the street lighting columns in two Peasedown streets, Knightstone Close and Bramley Close.
“The replacement works have now been completed, which means the old concrete columns have been removed, and new ones installed.”
The councillors are keen to hear from other residents who may be concerned about the lighting in their streets, and if it needs to be replaced.
