Many annual events have been cancelled this year or redesigned to run in these challenging times, and the Cam Valley Arts Trail, which will see its eighth year in 2020, is no exception – taking its artists online.

The trail usually takes place over a weekend, but as the event will be run virtually, it has been extended over nine days. As well as being able to buy original local artworks directly from the artists, you will also be able to take a virtual wander into artists’ studios, watch video demonstrations and techniques, follow featured artists and enjoy workshops. Visit: www.camvalleyartstrail.co.uk to see what awaits you at the Cam Valley Virtual Arts Trail, 31st October to 8th November.

Some of the exhibitors include Kate Westcott, Jane Wills, Wenda Bartlett and Simon Carder.

Working with wire has seen Kate Westcott transfer her designs into 3D form. Often liking her work to offer a practical use, she has introduced wire forms that work with candles and nightlights.

Jane Wills has always had a passion for colour, texture and metal with generations of her family working with metal. When she retired she bought her first kiln and her enamel discovery journey began. Current work includes jewellery, on both copper and fine silver. She loves enamelling small copper bowls and dishes.

Print maker, Wenda Bartlett’s work varies from etching, lino and vinyl cuts to wood engraving, wood cuts and collagraphs.

Simon Carder is an amateur photographer with the main focus of his work being on local wildlife.
