Residents have raised concerns over the plans to build two hundred and seventy new homes on the White Post site, situated between Midsomer Norton. This sits on the boundary between the two Councils, but does fall under the jurisdiction of Mendip Council.

Mendip District Council have responded to The Journal's request for comment. A spokesperson for the Council said:

"The site was allocated in Local Plan Part 2, but following a challenge to LLP2, the site is no longer allocated and is to be treated as open countryside.

"The following briefing note explains the position in relation to the challenge:

"At this time, I do not have a confirmed date for reporting this application to Board."
