Mendip Rocks, an annual festival to celebrate the geology of the Mendip Hills, is returning for another six weeks of events.
Kicking off on 17th September, Mendip Rocks launches with a family
funday at Frome Museum. During the following six weeks, there will be a
number of events across the area, including family days, guided walks, tours of quarries and caves, stone carving and geological mapping.
This year also sees the launch of a three-day Earth Science School, with field trips escorted by Geologist, Dr Peter Hardy, to learn in more detail the processes that made Mendip’s rocks.
Most of the events are free, with full details available online at: www.mendip
hillsaonb.org.uk/aonb-events or via Facebook, search Mendip Rocks.
