With thunder bellowing throughout Paulton, Midsomer Norton and Radstock, the Met Office have issued a yellow warning for persistent heavy rain as it sets to affect parts of Wales and Southwest England through Wednesday night and Thursday.

What to expect:

Possible power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businessesHomes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildingsFast flowing or deep floodwater is possibleDelays or cancellations to train and bus services are possibleSpray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closuresSome communities may be cut off by flooded roads
