STUDENTS across the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership Sixth Form have once again achieved strong results, progressing to universities, apprenticeships, and employment.
The partnership includes students attending the Somerset Studio School Sixth Form, Writhlington Sixth Form, and Midsomer Norton Sixth Form, and is one of the largest sixth forms in the South West.
Students received a strong set of results following months of study and preparation. These outcomes provide opportunities for apprenticeships, employment, and places at universities across the country. More than 54 per cent achieved A–B, and 87 per cent of students achieved A–C, all above national averages.
Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership CEO Alun Williams, joined by headteachers from all sites, commended the students, and said: “I am delighted by the achievements of Year 13 students this year. They have done exceptionally well. I’d like to wish all our Year 13s the very best of luck for what will no doubt be an exciting future.”
This year’s outstanding results include the first T Level cohort of students to complete this new qualification. The partnership is one of the few sixth forms in the area to offer this fully supported, vocationally focused course. Students have successfully completed placements at numerous local businesses, and the partnership would like to thank them for their support and expertise, without which the high levels of student success would not be possible.
Director of education post 16, Karen Ward, said: “We are so proud of the achievements of our students, and of the perseverance and resilience they have shown over the course of the last 18 months. We wish them all the best for the bright futures they have ahead of them as they begin the next chapter in their lives.
“With their strong destinations, including exciting apprenticeships and places at leading universities, we are confident that our students’ diligence and dedication will ensure their success in whichever path they choose to take.”
Detailed below are a few of the many notable achievements from each campus:
