The project is being organised by Martyn Plant, through the Midsomer Norton Community Trust, of which he is a trustee.

Martyn has organised an annual community art project in the past, as part of the Midsomer Arts Festival, which took place for several years prior to the Covid lockdowns. The artworks are usually displayed at all events taking place in the Midsomer Norton area throughout the summer. There are the same plans for this year, with art works being displayed at all Jubilee events, and other town events throughout June and July. This includes, Jubilee events in the Town Park, Cricket Club, Rugby Club and S & D Railway, and the Town Fayre in the Town Park.

Many local schools and community groups have already started making some art pieces, and the activity is open to all individuals, groups and families in the area. Resources and materials are available if needed, and work should be handed in at the Town Hall by the end of May.

Information and examples about the project are available through Midsomer Arts Festival Facebook and Instagram pages, or by contacting Midsomer Norton Community Trust: [email protected] / 01761 419133
