Memories over Elevenses is a new, free local history group, taking place every first Friday of the month at Radstock Museum.
The monthly event is open to everyone, with no commitment or signing-up required, and is being launched this Friday, 5th April. There are teas, coffees and cakes to enjoy, too, and these are complimentary – although a voluntary donation would be gratefully received by the museum.
Do you have any old local photos, newspaper cuttings, or old objects related to something local? Do you have memories or stories from your schooldays, workdays or pastimes linked to the local area? Did you play games in the playground that you can remember? Did you play out on the local coal batches after school?
Maybe you worked at Purnell, Mardons, Clarks, in the coalmines, or at another local business and have memories of those times.
Maybe you are new to the area, or you are a young person interested in the local history of this area and want to find out more.
Perhaps you have questions to ask about a local town or village, or have a photo or object you would like identified which the museum might be able to help with. Bring them with you to share in an informal chat with others over elevenses.
Memories over Elevenses is held on the first Friday of every month from February to November, in the museum tearoom, from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon. Everyone is welcome. Visit: radstockmuseum.co.uk or email: events@radstockmuseum.
