A NEW community magazine has been launched to keep people updated and informed about what’s going on at their local churches.
‘This is Us’ is a new publication produced by the St J’s Group, the group of Anglican churches comprising St John’s Peasedown, St Julian’s Wellow, St James’ Foxcote and St Julian’s Shoscombe.
Celebrating local people, news and events, the magazine hopes to create a stronger link between each church and the local village in which they serve.
Rev Matthew Street is the vicar of all four churches. He said: “We’re delighted to be able to launch our new ‘This is Us’ magazine. It’s full of good news stories and has a real ‘feel good’ factor.
“Often the news so regularly features bad news, ‘doom and gloom’ and misinformation – so we wanted to launch a new publication that is positive, enjoyable to read and full of useful ideas, tips and advice.
“Thanks to everyone across Peasedown St John, Wellow, Shoscombe and Foxcote who has picked up a copy of ‘This is Us’ so far. We’ve already received lots of glowing reviews.”
Produced bi-annually, the magazine features local stories, news about community projects, special ‘focus’ articles on people living locally, puzzles, recipe suggestions – and even a news piece about the Vicar’s cat.
Copies of ‘This is Us’ are available at each of the Anglican churches in Peasedown St John, Wellow, Shoscombe and Foxcote, and will soon be able to be collected at local community centres and hubs.
