North Somerset's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm February 9 to 6am March 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 20 lane closures for barrier upgrade.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm February 20 to 6am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, M5, junction 19 to 20 - lane closure for inspection/survey works.

M5, from 10pm February 21 to 6am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to junction 19 - lane closure for electrical works.

M5, from 10pm February 24 to 6am February 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 entry slip road closure for safety barrier repairs, diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 21 to turn and join M5 northbound.

M5, from 9pm February 28 to 6am March 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 to 20 - Lane closure for Central Reservation works.

M5, from 9pm March 1 to 6am March 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 lane closures for electrical works.

M5, from 9pm March 1 to 6am March 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, M5, junction 19 to 20 - lane closure for inspection/survey works.

M5, from 10pm March 3 to 6am March 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 exit slip road closed for cyclic maintenance works. Includes lane closures over Avonmouth Bridge. Diversion via M5 southbound to junction 20, to turn and return northbound.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
