Drivers in and around North Somerset will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M5, from 8pm December 2 to 6am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to junction 20 single lane running for improvement/Upgrade scheme.
• M5, from 9pm December 4 to 6am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to junction 21 single lane running for improvement/Upgrade scheme.
• M5, from 9pm September 29 to 6am December 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to junction 18 lane closures for bridge maintenance.
And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M5, from 8am to 4pm on December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 - hard shoulder closure for structure inspections.
• M5, from 8pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 entry slip closure for sign repairs. Diversion via M5 to junction 22.
• M5, from 8pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 lane closure, for improvement/Upgrade scheme.
• M5, from 9pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to 20 lane closure for sign repairs.
• M5, from 8am December 9 to 4pm December 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to junction 19 - hard shoulder only for horticulture works.
• M5, from 8pm December 12 to 6am December 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 entry slip closure for barrier repairs. Diversion via southbound to junction 21 and return.
• M5, from 9pm December 12 to 6am December 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 to 20 lane closure for barrier repairs.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
