North Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm October 15 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to junction 21 lane closures for improvement/Upgrade scheme.

M5, from 9pm September 29 to 6am December 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to junction 18 lane closures for bridge maintenance.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 8pm November 3 to 6am November 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to junction 20 single lane running for improvement/Upgrade scheme.

M5, from 8pm November 6 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to junction 20 single lane running for improvement/Upgrade scheme.

M5, from 9pm November 17 to 6am November 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to junction 18 lane closures for bridge maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
