WE would love to know who the people in this month’s mystery photograph are. Contact the editor at [email protected] if you have any information, or even if you would just like a guess as to where it is.
We had one guess come in from Norman Stuckey for last month’s photography. He emailed in to the Gazette to say: “I believe the mystery photo this month is of Sutton Farm, Bishops Sutton, probably taken late 60s or early 70s. This farm was bought by my father (Percy Stuckey) in June 1961 from Arthur Wyatt.” Spot on Norman.

It is indeed an aerial photo of Sutton Farm in Bishop Sutton, probably taken in the 1970s and supplied by a local resident. The road in the background is Sutton Hill Road and the houses lining the road are still there, as is the large stone house in the foreground. However, the fields have been built on and the farm buildings are long gone, replaced by a group of houses known as ‘Sutton Yard'.
The Harptrees History Society is always interested in old pictures of people, places and events in the Chew Valley and Wrington area. If you have any you would like to share, email [email protected]
