St John’s Church runs ‘SJ Little Ones’ – a weekly programme of events for pre-school aged children and their parents/carers.

Sarah Carney, Children’s Worker at St John’s Church, said: “It’s great to have all of our children’s groups back up and running after two years of lockdowns and covid uncertainty. As a Church we have continued to support the community throughout.

“Each of our weekly groups offers space for social interaction, play and a chance for parents to recharge and build friendships – something needed especially after the last two years of lockdowns and social restrictions!”

Each week, St John’s Church runs:

Mondays, Little Blessings – Support group for pregnant mums and babies up to one year old.

Tuesdays, Little Treasures Toy Library – Peasedown’s own children’s toy exchange and borrowing service. Books available too.

Fridays, Little Lights – Support group for children and young families. All ages welcome.

All sessions run from 10am-12noon at St John’s Church (Church Road) during term time. There is a £1 suggested donation for each session with homemade cakes and refreshments available to buy at each.

Sarah added: “Our Monday session has become extremely popular with up to thirteen mums attending with their babies. We have a weekly song time and spend the time playing, chatting and bonding.

“Our toy library on Tuesdays is a stay and play session as well as a toy borrowing session, and Friday continues to be our busiest session in the week. We have areas dedicated to role-play, dressing-up, reading, craft and a baby area.”
