Dan Norris, Metro Mayor for the West of England welcomed Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer to the West of England this week.

The Labour duo were talking jobs and skills as they visited the Port of Bristol and South Gloucestershire and Stroud College. Sir Keir threw his weight behind Mayor Norris’s plans for a jobs and skills summit as the pair chatted to apprentices, teachers, and highly skilled workers.

Newly elected Metro Mayor Dan Norris said “Jobs and skills are at the heart of what I want to do as Metro Mayor. We need more good quality jobs locally to drive our recovery. Working with local businesses, trade unions and organisations like Business West, we can really put our area on the map. The sun shone today and I know Sir Keir got a great impression of our amazing region to take back.”
