Plants, trees and things that grow was the theme for Messy Church at St John’s Church in Chilcompton this week. Through making, doing, talking, singing and an ‘I spy’ fruit and vegetable game, we all learnt about the things that grow in the world that God made!

Our crafts and activities this month included fruit and vegetable potato heads, four season trees and decorating pots which we then planted with seeds. There was a ‘no peeping ban’ placed on all mums, as we used our talents to make some amazing Mother’s Day cards.

Making the most of the wonderful sunshine, we burnt off our excess energy by running around outside, searching for hidden fruit. To end our afternoon we all played a part in the retelling of the story of the parable of the sower before enjoying a meal of fish fingers, chips and flower cakes that we had decorated earlier.
