Local MP, Jacob Rees-Mogg, has dismissed speculation that he may be planning a leadership challenge against Prime Minister, Theresa May, as a “ridiculous idea”.

Speaking to Andrew Marr last Sunday, he said: “The Prime Minister has my full support to remain as leader of the Party.

“My sole ambition, other than being MP for North East Somerset, is that Brexit should happen. That’s what I want to support, and I want to support the Prime Minister and Conservative party in delivering that. I think Mrs May is crucial to the Brexit project.”
