The Victoria Hall is gearing up for the arrival of seven Maasai warriors on Thursday, 27th October for a concert at the hall as part of their fourteenth annual UK charity tour.

The Osiligi Troupe are stunning performers, and delight audiences aged 5 – 95 in their concerts across the UK.

“We’re so thrilled that the warriors have agreed to come to Radstock this year,” says Victoria Hall’s programme co-ordinator, Caroline Green. “It will be a once-in-a-lifetime

opportunity for the local community to learn about their culture, as well as a chance to support their amazing charity.”

The tours have created a wonderful story. They, and the charity which stemmed from them, have taken the Troupe and their community some thirty miles southwest of Nairobi, from the total poverty they used to endure in 2002. They now have corrugated iron houses, instead of mud huts, in which to live, fresh clean water at three points in their community, solar lamps instead of kerosene, a new church and, most

wonderfully, a new village school. Last year saw the completion of a new clinic and this year, the new orphanage will open. Details about the charity can be found via their

The performance is fully narrated and consists of song and movement and, of course, jumping, for which the Maasai are famous, and there are even opportunities for audience participation! There will also be time for a question and answer session at the end and a chance to purchase original crafts and jewellery made in Maasai villages to support the charity.

This is a wonderful, unique experience which will never be forgotten or repeated. Ticket sales are already outstripping any other event at Victoria Hall this season, so book quickly at: www.victoriahallradstock.co.uk or by phone on: 01761 438885.
