Radstock Youth Hub, run by Bath and North East Somerset Council, will open its doors to the local community this Saturday, 8th September for its first ever Open Day.
The day has been planned by young people and staff at the Youth Hub to inform the local community about the services and facilities available. This event is open to anyone interested in finding out more about Radstock Youth Hub.
Cllr Paul Crossley (Lib-Dem, Southdown), Leader of Council, said: "We want young people and their families to come along to the day. In particular, we hope to encourage more young people aged between twelve and nineteen to attend the Youth Hub during its open sessions as well as show others, including those aged up to 25, the services it can provide them through working with partnership agencies like the Prince's Trust.
"The Council is committed to helping children and young people enjoy their childhood and prepare for adult life in order to make a positive difference to their lives and communities. The young people at Radstock Youth Hub have decided to use this event to raise funds for future youth work activities and will be holding a cake stall and a raffle.
"There should be plenty to see and do for all ages, including face painting, arts activities, sports activities including a dodge-ball competition and rugby skill with Bath Rugby Foundation, as well as some demonstrations from local DJs."
There will also be a barbecue so that people can grab a bite to eat and enjoy the festivities.
Information will be available for parents and carers to highlight the volunteering opportunities on offer at Radstock Youth Hub for adults and young people alike.
The event starts at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday, 8th September and finishes around 5 p.m.
