A special service to remember loved ones at Christmas is being hosted by B&NES Council’s Bereavement Services Team.
The Christmas Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, 11th December from 3 p.m. in the Top Chapel at Haycombe Cemetery. Those attending will be given the chance to write a message and hang it on the Christmas tree. They can also light a candle to remember their loved ones.
The Chairman of Bath and North East Somerset Council, Councillor Alan Hale and the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Paul Crossley, will be attending the service. Councillor Hale said: “When someone has lost a loved one, every family occasion, such as Christmas, will be a painful time, with the absence of the loved one even more pronounced. Whilst the pain and shadow of grief will hopefully one day be eased by the warmth of happy memories, we must support people wherever and whenever we can. This memorial service is one way that the Council can try to help ease that pain.”
Refreshments will be served after the service.
