Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of local people, the current running total for the Poppy Appeal stands at £21,297.13.

Not only are the branch members adjusting to this superb response by local people, but we are also in debt to all those who helped and who want to help in future years.

We have had many requests from local businesses wanting poppy boxes next year, and many people have stepped forward wanting to help. This is so important, as so few

active branch members meant that in the past, we have had to scale the appeal to match the number of people.

The branch, of course, realises that this was a special year, the Centenary of the end of hostilities in 1918, however, now we seem to have more help, hopefully, this will not hold us back!

Words are not enough to show how much we have appreciated the support, help and generosity, so please accept our heartfelt gratitude.

Because of the overwhelming support, we still need to create a working database to help us better control the whole Poppy Appeal for next year and beyond, so if anyone can give some time to assist in the writing of a Microsoft Access database, we would be very grateful.
