Friends and families saw the Easter weekend in with a splash, by taking part in a cold water dip after dark for RUHX on Thursday 6 April.
RUHX is the official NHS charity for Royal United Hospitals Bath and aims to improve health, happiness and wellbeing for everyone in Bath and beyond.
Around 40 supporters made their way into the lake as the full moon rose over West Country Water Park, braving the chilly water temperatures. With support from lifeguards, the lake was lit up for patients and NHS staff as participants entered the water with glowing floats.
One participant described it as an ‘incredible experience’ and said “I’ve never done cold water swimming before, but had always wanted to try - this event was the perfect opportunity to give it a go. It totally invigorated me and made me feel so alive!”
Ellie Wilkinson, Events and Community Officer, RUHX said: “We want to say a huge well done and thank you to everyone who took part and made the night truly magical.
“This was our first cold water dip in the dark, and we’re so grateful to our community for coming out in support of our hospital.
“Over £2,500 has been raised in sponsorship so far and we expect this to rise over the next few weeks.
“Every penny raised will help the RUH to do more for our patients, staff and our community.”
