The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association have thanked people in Midsomer Norton, Paulton and district who donated £562 to their collection in Tesco on Saturday July 30th.

Spokesperson Michael Rich said: “As always, too, we are most grateful to Tesco for enabling such collections to take place.

“In the current climate of increasing financial hardship, the charity sector relies even more on the good will of the public. In addition, Guide Dogs as a result of Covid has seen its breeding programme compromised over the past two years as well as having lost a number of trainers, and the waiting list for the supply of new dogs is currently as long, potentially, as 18 months.

“Your support has become even more crucial, therefore, and you may be sure that your contributions will go directly towards enabling the Association to continue its excellent work.”
