Downside Abbey is excited to host a talk on Natural England’s Nature Reserves in Somerset on Tuesday, 21st May by Simon Clark.
Simon has the enviable job of managing the incredible array of nature in the county for Natural England, who protect England’s nature and landscapes for people to enjoy. There are thirteen nature reserves in Somerset, from wetlands to grassland to coastal areas, and our county has some of the finest reserves in the country.
During his talk, Simon will be discussing his job, the importance of the county’s nature and what everyone can do to help protect our environment. With so much harm being done to the environment today, it is good to hear about the positive work of this important body.
The talk will take place in the Abbey Visitor Centre and there is no fee, although donations are welcomed. Booking is advisable by email: [email protected] or by phoning: 01761 235323, as space can become limited quickly. Refreshments are available from 9.30 a.m., so feel free to come early and take a look around our shop and enjoy a cup of tea.
