Midsomer Norton Methodist Church said a big thank you to Janet Robins on 26th February.

Janet has assisted with the lunches, once a month, since she retired from working as a school secretary in 2000. Her late husband, Jack, who at that time was already on a team, also gave many years helping and was good with the potato machine! Janet has now stepped down from the team, so she was thanked with a card and flowers.

The church offers lunch to anyone who wants to ‘stop-off’, or needs company and a good value meal. They have been available since 1997, when the church put in a new kitchen as part of a refurbishment of the premises. They depend on volunteers to prepare, serve, and clear up.

Our Lunches are each Tuesday, when we are open for coffees at 10.30 a.m., then lunch from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Some who come have coffee, then linger until lunch. Many come on the Dial-a Ride buses. Some go off to do shopping between coffee and lunch. If you would like to know more, contact: 01761 410450.
