As preparations for Midsomer Norton Town Fayre on Saturday, 8th July gather pace, the Town Show organising committee are pulling out all the stops to make this year’s event
bigger than ever before.
The Town Show will be housed in a huge 750 square metre marquee at Gullock Tyning and aims to showcase and celebrate the creativity of residents of Midsomer Norton and District and its community groups. There are competition areas for everyone, with seven main sections with 61 classes including vegetables, flowers, cookery, men’s only, handicrafts, art and photography and children’s.
“Overall, the aim is to encourage as many people as possible to take part to celebrate the varied creative skills of local people. With over 2,000 entry forms having been printed, it is easy to enter one or more of the show sections,” said Jenny Hillman, Chairman of the Committee.
There will be a range of trophies, one for each of the seven main sections – with an overall Town Show Trophy for the person winning the most points overall. In addition, there will be a schools trophy presented to the Midsomer Norton School with the highest number of points. Show entry forms are available online at: www.MidsomerNortonCommunityTrust.co.uk or in the Town Council Reception at the Town Hall or in the Library.
