FREEMASONS from Connaught have come to the rescue to provide ‘a special little boy’ with the bed he needed.

Three-and-a-half-year-old Arlo Cradock was diagnosed from birth with epilepsy, and later with STXBP1, a rare genetic condition.

Due to his mobility needs, Arlo needed a floor bed with guard rails to better support him.

Arlo, his mother Emma, nan Carol Heavyside, and six-year-old sister Isla-Rose, all went to meet members of Connaught Freemasons in the Masonic Hall, where he was presented with a cheque for £220 to cover the cost of a new bed.

The masonic lodge’s charity steward, Chris James, said: “Before leaving, Arlo was given one of our ‘TLC Teddies’, and, not to be left out, Isla-Rose had a cuddly penguin.”
