The Victoria Hall is preparing for its first ever film festival this weekend with four top

recently released films screened over the weekend.

The Festival opens on Friday, 13th May with a screening of Bridge of Spies (12A) at 7.30 p.m. At 4.30 p.m. on Saturday, 14th May is a re-scheduled screening of Bill (PG), in partnership with Bath Film Festival.

Based on the book by David Ebershoff, The Danish Girl (15) is a remarkable love story inspired by the lives of Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener and directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech, Les Misérables). It is screened at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, 14th May.

Dad’s Army, the feature film based on the much loved iconic British comedy will close the festival on Sunday, 15th May at 4 p.m.

Local audiences will now be able to enjoy the full cinema experience in the venue’s main studio theatre with new custom fitted tiered seating, surround sound and a large screen. The cinema refit has been made possible thanks to funding from Radstock and Westfield Big Local through the Local Trust, Sue Hill Dance Ltd and B&NES Councillor Deidre Horstmann’s Ward Initiative Fund.
