Organisers of the Midsomer Norton Fayre Shop Window Competition have announced two joint winners – Swan Artworks and OBJECT. Swan Artworks were commended in particular for their stunning display, including many First World War artefacts, whilst OBJECT, one of the town's newest businesses, in the Hollies Gardens, were praised for their creative use of red, white and blue. "Firstly, I'd like to say a huge thank you to the 24 businesses who entered the competition on the theme of red, white and blue and made such wonderful displays in the High Street in Fayre Week. The reason for having two winners was that the two independent judges felt that these two businesses had both created such interesting displays that to award it to just one of them would have been unfair," said Jenny Hillman, of the Midsomer Norton Fayre Organising Committee. They will, therefore, share the trophy for this year's 2014 competition – having a week each to start with and then taking it in turns for the rest of the year.
