Would you like to help in the local community by driving the community minibus for groups of elderly and disabled residents so they can go to lunch clubs or organisations?
The Midsomer Norton and Radstock Community Service Vehicle Trust (Charity No. 276166) is urgently in need of voluntary drivers to fulfil its community commitments.
Due to medical reasons, the pool of drivers has recently been reduced and Spring will soon be upon us. It would be a pity if our user groups could not meet due to lack of transport.
Drivers need to be over-21 and under-75 and have held a full driving licence for at least two years. They would be assessed by the B&NES Assessor (medicals for those aged seventy and over are necessary). If you enjoy driving and getting to know local people, this fulfilling post could be for you! You would also be keeping housebound older people, especially, in touch with each other.
So why not give it some consideration? You could be making a great deal of difference to people’s lives. For more information, please contact Melvyn Johnson (Chairman) on 01761 452585 or David Shearn (Secretary/Treasurer) on 01761 413473. Thank you! If you know of someone who may be interested in driving, please pass our details on to them.
