Around the Somer Valley and beyond, people keen to get out and walk in our attractive countryside are urged to join in the third Somer Valley Walking Festival, on the weekend of 14th to 16th September.
New this year is a walk from Peasedown, starting at 10 a.m., to Priston Music Festival, with time to have lunch and enjoy the festival events before returning. All walks will take in local features of historic interest from the area’s coalfield past and will be led by experienced walkers.
On Sunday there will be four longer walks, including visits to the Somersetshire Coal Canal at Paulton Basin and the old railway line at Chilcompton, plus a nature walk from Shoscombe led by the Cam Valley Wildlife Group, and an Art Walk around Radstock.
A photographic competition will be open to all those taking part, to complete what we hope will be a memorable weekend. To book a place for the talk, ring Radstock Museum on: 01761 437722.
Full details of the programme, with times and starting venues, can be found on: www.bathscape.co.uk, and the Festival is also on Facebook and Twitter. Further enquiries to: [email protected] or ring: 01225 477265.
