GUESTS braved the heat last Saturday as they came out to enjoy the tenth annual Midsomer Norton Fayre.

Taking place from midday on July 12, the event was opened by special guest local MP Anna Sabine, who helped judge the maypole competition.

The amphitheatre hosted several acts, throughout the day such as the Creatures, Melissa McCusker, the Revenants and more.

Other entertainment at the fayre included Paul Wheeler’s Punch and Judy show and performances by the Sax Pistols and the Midsomer Norton and District Silver Band.

The Somer Centre hosted this year’s Town Show, which saw an overall win for Noel Avis.

The Midsomer Norton Community Trust would like to thank all the volunteers and supporters, especially Midsomer Norton Town Council for their financial support which makes the event possible.

In the Somer Centre garden, the Town Show Marquee was host to vegetable, cookery, flowers, handicrafts and photography competitions with trophies and medals handed out by Town Mayor, Mr Martyn Plant.
