Wells Golf Club Captains - Katrina, Phil and Mike - had the St Margaret’s Hospice representatives Kerry and Viv over for coffee and cake recently and were able to hand over a cheque to the charity for £12,500.

Thanks to all those volunteers, staff and members who gave their time and contributions to various raffles, auctions and generous donations, including that raised by the friends and family of former captain Andrew Boatswain in lieu of flowers at his funeral and reception afterwards.

Ideal summer golfing weather meant that all the Mens’ Summer Knockout Cups finished in plenty of time this year - the winners and runners up were as follows;

The Scratch Cup Winner was Toby Cole with Kevin Keene the runner-up.

The Dickinson Cup was Peter Cherry with Colin Mantle the runner up.

The Burnside Cup was Michael Vincent  with Richard Hole the runner up.

And finally, the Dyer Cup was Jon Mackness with Roy Elliot the runner up.

Congratulations to them all! And thanks to Alan Obern for his organisational skills in his first year as competition secretary. Alan was also lucky enough to get a hole in one recently so nobody in the clubhouse that day went thirsty.

Peter Cherry won the Seniors’ October Stableford with a dominant 46 points - 8 points ahead of four players on 38 points.
