Kevin Bresnan, from Midsomer Norton, is attempting to walk non-stop from Weymouth to Wells in September for Children’s Hospice South West.
Along with two colleagues, he plans to start at midnight on Saturday, 2nd September and aims to finish in Wells at 4 p.m. on the Sunday, having walked an impressive fifty miles.Kevin said: ‘The walk itself is going to be a real challenge. We will be using the main roads for most of the route and it’s going to push me to the limit of what my body can do, but I am determined to achieve my goal. I’m no athlete, which I hope will entice more people to give support to our cause.”
Kevin has been motivated to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West’s Charlton Farm in North Somerset as the charity provides respite stays for him and his son, Caleb, who has a life-limiting condition called Alagille Syndrome.
“Our family use Charlton Farm throughout the year, and we know first-hand what a wonderful place it is and how brilliant and caring the staff are. It’s my way of thanking
everyone there for their hard work and dedication to helping families like ours across the region.”
Charlton Farm is Bath’s only dedicated children’s hospice and provides a secluded and beautiful setting in which families can take some time out and just enjoying spending time together. It provides a loving and caring place, home from home for every member of every family who stays; a sanctuary for mums and dads, brothers and sisters. A place where everyone can begin to forget their worries for a while, be a family again, and find expert help and support in facing an uncertain future.
