Wow, what a way to finish the most successful year for the Parkinson’s Bath and District Branch.

Firstly, there was the Christmas lunch on Wednesday, 14th December at the Centurion Hotel, Midsomer Norton.

101 people attended and enjoyed a three course lunch, and prizes were given for the best decorated hat, for both ladies and gents. The entertainment was supplied by Steve Rogers, with great singalong songs.

On Saturday, 17th December, a carol service was held at

St Michael’s Church, Bath. The carols were sung by the Bath Chorus, conducted by Grenville Jones and Emma North; a great and cheerful evening with all the money going to two local Parkinson’s branches. Thank you, Grenville for all your hard work and support.

In 2016, the Bath and District Branch has run six social coffee mornings, two exercise classes, indoor bowls at Paulton and water exercises at the RUH pool. In 2017, we are starting social coffee mornings in Wells and Paulton, and a dance exercise class in Bath. These will start in February, please keep an eye out in The Journal for start dates and venues.

Over the last three years, we have more than doubled the Bath branch membership. That’s why we say 2016 was our best year – and it can only get stronger.

Thanks to all our supporters and of course, The Journal.
