Somer Valley Enterprise Zone is a proposed development located at Old Mills, Paulton.

B&NES Council are planning to build on this greenfield area, extending to 13.5 hectares, to provide around 38,500 meters of commercial buildings. The SVEZ aims to create new jobs for local residents at the site on north-western the edge of Midsomer Norton.

The idea was established in April 2017 to support local businesses and to encourage economic growth in the area, as well as new jobs.

At the time of writing, forty two comments have been made on the proposal, with many residents opposing the idea.

One person commented: "Why build on green belt when there [sic] enough empty premises in Midsomer norton high street which is [sic] dying due to lack of business?"
